Hi! I am Louis Haywood, a Sound and AV Designer based in the West Midlands. I am currently a 2nd year student at Birmingham Ormiston Academy, where I am gaining a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Technical Theatre and Live Events.

Cue stacks built in QLab 5, mixed live on Behringer X32, Allen and Heath SQ and Yamaha Rivage PM. From intimate fringe pieces to full musicals with a ten piece band and twelve radio mics.

Programming and operating on EOS ETC, pre-visualising in Capture, and designing projection and AV content that lands on the right beat without anyone noticing the mechanics.

About
Louis Haywood

I am a technical theatre student at Birmingham Ormiston Academy, on the Stage and Screen course, studying technical theatre and live events at level 3.

I started on stage, in productions at The Core Theatre and the Artrix, before moving to the technical side in 2021. Since then I have led audio for live productions, programming effects, balancing levels, supporting rehearsals and fixing things in real time while the show carries on.

I work on Behringer X32, Allen and Heath SQ and Yamaha Rivage PM, build cue stacks in QLab 5, and programme and operate lighting on EOS ETC. I like the pressure of a live room and the part of the job where nobody in the audience can tell how much is going on.
